Janne Ebel  is a german filmmaker and cinematographer based in Berlin and New York. She graduated from The New School New York with a Master of the Arts focusing on Film Production and Cinematography. Janne works as a director of photography in both narrative and documentary film. Her most recent feature film “The Visual Feminist Manifesto” by Farida Baqi celebrated its premiere at the IFFR Rotterdam Film Festival 2025, winning the Youth Film Award. Amongst Janne´s other works are “ A Rotten Woman” which premiered at SXSW 2024  and got nominated for the SXSW Grand Jury Award for best Narrative Short. On the festival circuit, films of her have screened at Venice Biennale, Film Festival Venice, Manhattan Film Festival and Cannes Short Film Corner among others. She strives to create evocative and emotive imagery organically through composition and lighting – a pursuit of cinematography that is born out of character, story, subtext and genre.
